black excellence

i think the main point here is that he might be able to cure cancer…not that he’s black

Can you stop being obnoxious for one second and actually attempt to understand the context of the statement?

The fact of the matter is, due to media saturation, the majority of stories you hear about Black people are negative ones. Also, any conversation regarding negative behavior, people have no problem putting the color Black into it, but suddenly when a Black person is making strides, you want to erase their race as being a factor? Fuck off.

Also something you want to note is often when stories like this are covered, people will leave out the name of the person doing it, if they happen to be a PoC. They’ll say “black boy creates x” but let a white person make a stride and they’ll give you his name, his families name and they’ll make absolutely sure they’ll get the recognition that they deserve.

There is a very big problem with representation and Black people always being painted in a negative light, but you won’t even recognize something positive like this coming from a Black person.
